However, it also has shortcomings such as heat resistance and flavor influence. The performance of different materials varies significantly.

Material and Safety

Common food-grade materials include PET (polyethylene terephthalate), PP (polypropylene, type 5), and Tritan (modified copolyester, BPA-free); all official products are labeled as BPA-free and comply with food contact standards; PET has poor heat resistance (it deforms at about 70℃), PP can withstand temperatures up to around 120℃, and Tritan combines transparency with impact resistance, making it suitable for repeated use.

Low-quality plastics may release harmful substances under high temperatures, alcohol, and acidic environments. It is essential to choose products with certifications.

Physical and Usage Characteristics

Shatterproof and Impact Resistant: It is almost impossible to break, preventing glass shards from causing injuries. Suitable for swimming pools, camping, children's parties, bars, etc.; much lighter in weight than glass, making it convenient for bulk carrying and storage.

Design and Appearance: The transparent model can highly imitate the texture of a glass cup; it can be made into various forms such as high-heel cups, handleless cups, champagne cups, etc., with rich colors, and can also be processed with matte, printing, etc.; the disposable model has a low cost and is suitable for large parties; the repeatable model should be careful to avoid yellowing and brittleness caused by high-temperature dishwashers or direct sunlight.

Cleaning and Maintenance: It easily absorbs wine stains and odors. After deep-colored / oily drinks, it needs to be cleaned promptly; most PET cups are not recommended for repeated use or high-temperature washing; Tritan and PP materials can be gently hand-washed; avoid scraping with steel wool to prevent scratches and dirt accumulation.

Economy and Environmental Protection

The price is low, and the one-time use model is suitable for large-scale use in activities; the reusable model is more cost-effective in the long run.

In terms of environmental protection, PET and PP are recyclable, but the recycling systems vary; if disposable plastics are discarded randomly, it will cause white pollution; it is recommended to prefer reusable food-grade plastic cups and ensure proper classification for recycling.
